Robert Neves, M.D. After graduating from Saint Mary's College, Dr. Neves received his medical degree Magna Cum Laude from Creighton University School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Wake Forest University where he was active in research. While serving as Chief Resident, Dr. Neves received the Bryan Sloan Memorial Research Award for his investigation regarding laser surgery for the treatment of glaucoma.
Dr. Neves is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In addition, he is a member of the California Medical Association and the East Bay Ophthalmological Society. He represents young physicians of the Alameda Contra Costa Medical Association at the annual California Medical Association convention.
In practice at the Valley EyeCare Center since 1998, Dr. Neves specializes in comprehensive medical ophthalmology. His areas of interest include glaucoma, diabetic eye disease and ocular surface disorders.
Michael Gagnon, M.D. After graduating from Saint Mary’s College of California, Dr. Gagnon received his Doctorate of Medicine from Creighton University School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Wake Forest University, and spent an additional year for subspecialty training in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the University of Utah, Moran Eye Center.
A board certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Gagnon is on the clinical teaching staff of the Department of Ophthalmology at Stanford University. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the California Association of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the California Medical Association, and the Alameda Contra Costa Medical Association.
Specializing in cornea and refractive surgery, Dr. Gagnon has performed a wide variety of refractive procedures, including LASIK and Advanced Surface Ablation, and no injection sutureless cataract surgery. He has published many papers and has given lectures at national meetings on topics in refractive surgery as well as ocular surface reconstruction. Dr. Gagnon received the Best Paper of Session Award at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons meeting for his investigation of intraocular lens calculations after LASIK. His areas of interest also include LASIK, corneal transplants, sutureless corneal transplants (DSEK), pterygium surgery, artificial corneas, and dry eyes.
Jay R. DeLaney, O.D. Graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a degree in kinesiology, Dr. DeLaney pursued his graduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry. He completed his clinical rotations at San Francisco Veteran's Administration Hospital, Omni eye Specialists, Denver; CO, and Sacramento Veteran's Administration Hospital.
Dr. DeLaney has been in practice in the Tri-Valley area and a Valley EyeCare Center associate since receiving his doctorate in 1994.
Gina Trentacosti, O.D.
Dr. Trentacosti received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis, in biological sciences. She graduated from the Univeristy of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. She completed her clinical rotations at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, NC, Vision American in St. Louis, MO, and Heritage Park Vision Source in Midwest City, OK.
Upon completing her doctorate in 2000, Dr. Trentacosti became an associate at Valley EyeCare Center.

Keri Owyang, O.D.
Dr. Owyang received her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of California, San Diego. She completed her graduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. Her clinical rotations included Sacramento Kaiser Permanente and Veteran's Administration Hospital, Castle Family Health Care in Atwater, CA, and San Diego Lion's Club Vision Clinic.
Dr. Owyang has been an associate at Valley Eye Care Center since receiving her doctorate in 2007.
